A spirit level or a bubble level, is an instrument designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontally levelled or vertically plumbed. Different types of spirit levels may be used by carpenters, surveyors, metalworkers, and even in photographic work.
 What is an Engineer’s Spirit Level?
An engineer’s spirit level is known for its high precision, quality and reliability which is generally used to level machine beds, and by using gravity as a reference, a level is used to ensure the straightness of the machine’s axis. The name spirit level comes from the use of the liquid contained inside the vial, often ethanol or spirit.

What are the types of Precision Spirit Levels?
There are two types of Precision Spirit Levels:
- Horizontal Spirit Levels
- Frame Spirit Levels

Besides the vial, the frame or the body of a precision level is extremely important. There are two types of bases:
- Flat Base
- Grooved base
A specialty of the JAFUJI precision Levels is the geometry of the base is adjusted exactly parallel to the vial axis by grinding and scraping. The bubble in the sprit level will always move along the radius of the tube for a certain distance depending on the tilt. An Allen Screw is also provided to do zero setting of the bubble. Bubble level usually consists of vertical and horizontal levelling.
